MONTEREY SELECT BOARD
NOTES ON THE MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 12, 2005

The regular weekly meeting of the Monterey Select Board was opened at 8:30 a.m. with members Michèle Miller (Chair), Michael Storch, and Jonathan Sylbert all present.

In attendance for the meeting: Laurily Epstein of the Monterey News

·       Highway Department:
o       Biodiesel as a possible alternative fuel
o       Jaffe Driveway Permit: Needed for an active temporary drive? Yes
o       Pedestrian walkway signs/crosswalk re: Monterey General Store & tearoom
o       Mark out No Parking area

·       Police Department:
o       Emergency drill at Firehouse, 9/14/05
o       Animal Control Officer
o       Scheduling

·       Building Commissioner:
o       Enforcement of sign permits
o       Real estate signs
o       Invite Dean Amidon to articulate specific issues

·       911:  Clarify issues with Fire Department

·       BG: Alternatives for Transfer Station and rebate from Master Garbologist

·       Town Secretary:
o       Board of Health, review meeting minutes
o       Call Agar
o       Website: Complete board descriptions; add Agenda

·       Emergency Procedures: Set meeting for October 17

·       Zoning Board of Appeals/Town Clerk

·       Clean Energy Award/ Ballpark Light

·       Board of Assessors:  Meeting with Select Board, Sept. 19

·       10:30 a.m. Opening of Sealed Bids: Two bids were received for paving jobs on sections of Blue
Hill Road and Gould Road, as follows:

1)      DelSignore Blacktop Paving Inc. of Troy, NY………………$50.96 per ton
2)      L B Corporation of Lee, MA…………………………………$58.50 per ton


The Board voted unanimously to accept the bid of DelSignore Blacktop Paving Inc. of Troy, NY, at the bid price of $50.96 per ton.
